Impacting your World through Music

Since 2007, the YALC has benefitted close to 500 participants each year from 40 schools. Students from Bands, Chinese Orchestras, String Ensembles, Percussion and gamelan ensemble had joined this programme. The conference is opened to all student leaders of music CCA groups in secondary school, junior colleges and polytechnics.

YALC comprises lectures, breakout discussions, and hands-on sessions and aims to empower leaders with the necessary tools to effectively lead their music groups. Student leaders can expect to develop their leadership skills in areas of personal leadership, leading others, and musical leadership.

In addition, the conference's theme for this year, 'Impacting your world through music,' will enable student leaders to make meaningful contributions to communities within their sphere of influence. The conference will feature influential leaders from the arts industry who will share insightful information and practical leadership concepts. Additionally, student leaders from the NUS Chinese Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, and Wind Symphony will provide mentorship opportunities for participants during the event.

Students will be assigned to attend Sectional Leaders Track (with hands-on leading sectionals sessions) or Exco- Leaders Track (with more team management session) based on their roles. All Sectional Leaders are required to bring along their instruments (overnight storage available).
